Equipment?

Now that I've decided to photograph birds, how exactly do I get more of them into my yard?  Here's the newly prepared back yard - ready for adding bird equipment.

 I bought a pretty bird feeder and a shepherd's pole to hang it on.    Here's the feeder.  The top of the shepherd's pole can be seen in the title image.

I bought bird seed and set it out.  For 4 days there was nothing.  I was terribly disappointed.  And then the birds came!
